Cuckoos Nest is situated in the heart of the countryside. This is the first station after Clayton West and acted for a short time as the railways terminus. Now just a through station Cuckoos Nest makes a very nice point to stop off and enjoy a walk in the magnificant countryside. There are a number of circular walks which can be undertaken which would allow you to break your journey and rejoin the train at this station. A small shelter is provided here as well as a pathway leading down to the network of public footpaths.
